MDI Regulator Assessment Preparation
Preparing future driving instructors for the South Australian MDI Regulator Assessment. Training includes teaching techniques, commentary driving, traffic law knowledge, vehicle control and manoeuvres, mock regulator assessments, and detailed assessment preparation with feedback.
Government assessment fees are separate and payable directly to the South Australian Government. Kar-Key Driving Academy provides preparation and coaching only.

Lessons 10–15: Building Confidence & VORT Preparation
By this stage, many learners are becoming more confident and comfortable driving in a wide range of traffic conditions. Your instructor will continue to develop your driving skills while preparing you for safe, independent driving. Lessons are tailored to your individual progress, helping you build confidence at a pace that suits you.
VORT Assessment Preparation
If you are progressing well, lessons 10–15 are often when we begin focused preparation for the South Australian Vehicle On Road Test (VORT). Your instructor will guide you through the official assessment standards and help you develop the skills required to become a safe and confident driver.
Our goal is not only to help you pass your VORT test but to develop the skills and confidence needed to drive safely for life.
Please Note
Every learner progresses at a different pace. While many students begin VORT preparation after 10–15 lessons, some may require additional training depending on their previous driving experience, confidence and skill level. Your instructor will recommend when you are ready to take the assessment based on your individual progress.
